Why you should read LHJC
(this section may contain spoilers)- enemies! to! lovers! not the fake kind... they really fight and try to k*ll each other
- it's both historical and modern fantasy, should appeal to fans of any of these genres
- slowburn romance & power couple! emperor shou with a traumatizing past (Sheng Lingyuan) x vermillion bird gong with a long hair kink (Xuan Ji); Xuan Ji is a broke danmei reader (seriously), while Lingyuan is both confused and amazed at the wonders of the 21st century (ADORABLY SO)
- they share TWO underwater kisses (iconic)... there's biting involved too
